Easy Delivery Co is a relaxing pick up and delivery game where you get to drive along peaceful roads, moving goods from one area to another. The focus is on the game being easy, although it is still possible to mess up. It’s set in a snowy landscape, with the bleak conditions contrasting the gameplay.

The game goes for a PlayStation 1 style aesthetic, with simple models and textures, jagged trees and the lot. This is mixed with some nice winter weather and lighting effects, like varying amounts of fog (proper fog, not draw distance cover up fog), rain, sleet and snow. It’s a nice looking game, even if you won’t find much visual variety due to the icy landscape.

You start off in a mountain region, focusing on local deliveries. The area has three towns to drive between, and you’ll need to buy energy drinks to top up your energy and fuel to fill up your truck (the consequences for failing are very small). Driving feels responsive, and you only need to keep one piece of the delivery in the truck, meaning you don’t need to worry about a large stack of pizzas falling off.

To progress, you’ll need to save up to buy equipment for yourself and your trick, letting you reach new areas, navigate the snow better and get more efficient ways of topping up your energy and keeping warm (you can’t be out of your truck for long). There’s three main areas, each with three towns and you can accept deliveries between these areas.

As with a lot of cosy games, unsettling things will start happening (mainly the dialogue with the shopkeepers), and there’s a dark plot underlying the game. You’ll get some objectives which guide you along this, although I thought the ending (well, the final one) was a bit boring. Still, the game is short, which I think is perfect for this. It’s a nice little game.

Fun
