We start off on a barren planet, with everyone celebrating Harrison’s birthday with what little supplies they have. They ask each other about birthday memories, and we get a flashback to Ec’co as a child waiting for a party when everyone in his class phones to say they’re sick – none of them liked him due to being half alien. Stacey suggests hiding out with his mother’s people, the H’rath.
Bonner explains that they’re very controlling of the stargate, as the Tlak’kahn have constantly tried to contact them – that’s when he realises that they may be able to give them information about Tlak’kahn tactics. However, as they’re not welcoming of guests, just him and Ec’co will go. As they head through the stargate, lightning breaks it.

The H’rath recognise that the people coming through the stargate are using the old Stargate Command codes, but still let them through. They’re not very receptive, calling Ec’co a half-breed and putting the two of them in a cell. We get more flashbacks of Ec’co being bullied as a child.
As they get questioned, Bonner explains that he was somehow framed at Stargate Command, denying the allegations that the H’rath has been warned about, they also don’t know where Ec’co’s loyalties lie due to being a child of two worlds. Another prisoner is thrown in (he stole rations) and is appalled that he has to share space with a half-breed, and Ec’co says he has no home. Bonner consoles him, saying that home doesn’t have to be a place, it can be with people that care for you.

The Tlak’kahn and damage the cell. Instead of fleeing, Bonner and Ec’co find some guns and start fending off the attack, making the Tlak’kahn flee. The leader, Lo’do, is very pleased and now willing to trust them, although he’s keeping Ma’dek around to be sceptical. He takes them to a downed Tlak’kahn pyramid ship where they use a ring transporter (I presume their stuff is based on Gou’ald technology) to reach a storeroom.
There are a load of Tlak’kahn artifacts, inducing data crystals that they plan to give to Bonner to try and uncover the secrets, as he may be able to find out how he was framed. Ma’dek then picks up a bomb and sets the timer, revealing himself to be a shapeshifter – Bonner realises that’s how he was framed. Ec’co dives on the bomb to protect the others, but Lo’do reveals that this room was a test, and everything was a fake. Although he didn’t expect one of his own to fail.

They return home, where Harrison has just finished rigging up some stuff to repair the stargate. And Ec’co is feeling a lot better due to realising he has friends, and that his mother’s people are no longer hostile towards him.
