Lord Khonsu is sitting on board his Gou’ald ship, calling for his First Prime. He has intelligence about important targets and wants them captured alive. The target is SG-1. We cut to a planet with three scientists: Felger, Coombs and Meyers. Oh, and Coombs is played by John Billingsley (known as Dr Phlox in Enterprise).
Felger seems to be daydreaming, with the orders mocking him for how obsessed he is over SG-1, who are currently babysitting them. Felder wonders what profound things they’re talking about (Jack and Teal’c are discussing hockey). When they come to get some food, Felger talks about them getting back to saving the world once this research is done.

Carter tells them that they’ve received an urgent message from Hammond, so Jack tells the three scientists to wait an hour and head back to the gate. While they’re gone, Felger is concerned while Coombs mocks him for buttering up SG-1 so much, with Felger trying to report by insulting Coombs for liking Star Trek. As they argue, a Gou’ald attack ship flies over.
Felger radios SG-1 but Jack tells him to stick to what they were told and to wait for it to be clear before heading home. Felger ignores this and rushes off, with the other scientists following to try and stop him. They get there just in time to see SG-1 getting captured and taken away by the ship. Felger wants to do something and the others are dismayed.

Felger claims that as he’s the head researcher, he can give orders. He tells Meyers to head back to Earth and gets Coombs to help him with the rings they’re studying, as if they can get them to work, they can reach the mothership before it leaves. Despite a great like referencing how Jack would shoot Felger for disobeying orders, Coombs still goes along with the plan.
When they ring up, Felger closes his eyes and shoots around in a circle (with Coombs having to duck) but luckily for them, there’s nobody there. They try to figure out how to reach SG-1’s holding cell. Back on Earth, Meyers informs SG-1 and Hammond is really not pleased when he finds out what the other scientists have done.

In the cell, Jack and the rest of SG-1 seem very relaxed. On cue, the First Prime comes to gloat, with Jack making a joke that Teal’c says needs work. After he goes, Felger and Coombs manage to break into the cell. Jack is not happy at all, revealing that getting captured was part of a mission they’re on, and the two of them have just jeopardised it.
It turns out the Gou’ald after SG-1 is actually an undercover Tok’ra, who has very important information about where Anubis is getting his technology. However, in order to not blow his cover, he needs this elaborate plan of capturing SG-1 and then escaping to pass on the information. To Jaffa approach, but luckily they’re allies of the Tok’ra, and agree to stash the scientists somewhere.

When the ship reaches Lord Khonsu’s base, SG-1 are transferred to a new cell, and the First Prime is annoyed that he can’t torture them for information on the way. Back on the ship, the two friendly Jaffa are cornered and killed in the cargo bay where Felger and Coombs are hiding – the rest of the Jaffa know their master is a Tok’ra, and we’re just waiting for him to be useful. Felger realises something is up, and he has an idea.
We cut to the planet, where the two of them look very out of place in Jaffa armour (and their tattoo marks are a bit wonky). Most of the Jaffa don’t pay them any attention, but Felger manages to zat the one that questions them, and they manage to get into the base.

Khonsu is annoyed that SG-1 haven’t been brought to him yet, but his First Prime tells him that they are no longer their concern, killing him and telling the other Jaffa that he was a Tok’ra spy and that they serve Anubis. SG-1 are brought towards them and the First Prime demands to know who the other spies are – with Jack pointing out that they’ve killed their source of information. They’re told that Anubis is on his way to deal with them.
At Stargate Command, Hammond received word that Khonsu has been compromised. Meyers wants to join the rescue team, but Hammond says the Stargate is too heavily guarded to risk anyone (can’t they at least send some missiles through?). We cut back to the other scientists, who are still arguing about risking their lives trying to rescue people much more skilled than them, but managing to find a control room.

They manage to communicate with SG-1 in the cell (which worries Jack), but Carter realises that they can power down the force field. Coombs tries to make this happen, while Felger goes to get weapons for SG-1. When SG-1 is free, Felger says that Coombs can sort out the main shield while SG-1 take out the Jaffa.
Obe SG-1 get out, they tell Coombs to find some rings and head out, but Jaffa have discovered him and start trying to bash through the door. SG-1 manage to take out the Jaffa, but Felger lets them know that Coombs is in trouble. Jack tells him to ring him and Teal’c in, where they’re able to rescue Coombs and all of them manage to get home.

We cut to an award ceremony, with Coombs and Felger receiving medals, with Carter giving Felger a big kiss – which is interrupted by Coombs waking him up, as they’re working in a lab. People seem to take this as the entire episode being a daydream (not just the ceremony), but that would be no fun. I also don’t think dream episodes should show scenes away from the dreamer. It’s a really enjoyable episode, too
