This game lets you create your own starships. You start off with a popular starship class, such as Constitution, Galaxy, Intrepid or Defiant and then modify it in phases. The first phase is appearance, letting you toggle between different nacelles, hulls and saucers. Next up is the name, followed by internal systems that affect the stats.

One you’ve built a ship, you can send it on missions. The missions are fully automatic, so you just sit back and watch your creation at work (or put it in “stealth” mode and do something else).

While quite limited, it’s nice to see your creations flying around. I focused on three ships: the first was a Constitution class USS USS Columbia (I didn’t realise it automatically added the USS part), designed to look like a Constitution mixed with the NX class. Then a really silly looking Defiant, the Potato class USS Spud. Finally, a really cool looking Intrepid I called the USS Pathfinder.

This needs to be ran in a Virtual Machine. I installed this in the one created for Generations for an easier way to have a Virtual Machine. You’ll need to go to to CD-ROM – load image to mount the ISO and install the program from there. Note: this will break the Generations game, but uninstalling and reinstalling will reset it.

I spent a lot of time with this trying to figure out where the actual game was. I loved building the ships though.
I bought this game. My favorite part was creating the ships. I think there was a “Starship Creator II” released a couple of years later.
One of my top favorite PC games of all time. I would happily spend ALL DAY on the customizing and crew selection alone!
Miss it so much.
I use to play that game all the time. I would make tons of ships and import my favorite character from everything to serve on those ships. Lol, many times I imported anime characters to be officers in this game.
I created some nightmare creature and exported it to Dominion Wars; another extremely lackluster game that I really enjoyed.
I got this game and played a lot of making the ship but afterwards just like there’s nothing much else to do. Still enjoyed it though for being 12
I have this game and for someone who’s autism thing is star trek starships, I absolutely loved it.
The downside was the missions took absurdly long to carry out. Like… Take a shower or cook a meal while it’s en route long.
