Following on from the return of Apophis in the previous episode, SG-1 (with Jacob and Martouf) get thrown back into their cell, with their communication device confiscated – and Apophis telling Teal’c that his god has returned. Daniel doesn’t help the situation by mocking him about Amaunet being dead. Apophis has a plan to gain favour with Sokar, using SG-1. He brings Carter before him first, making her relive her father telling her about his mother’s death. It starts off fine, but then he starts asking about Iris codes. She realises something is up and Apophis gets no information.
Teal’c has to flee due to the death gliders (and to warn the Tok’ra that Sokar will soon overthrow the system lords) and Apophis uses the memory device on Jack now, using Charlie against him to ask about how to find the Asgard. Once again, he doesn’t fall for it. It’s Martouf’s turn next, and he brings Sam along. He threatens to kill Sam, so Martouf gives him the location of the Tok’ra base. Last up is Daniel Jackson, where he uses a memory of Jack to ask about the Harcesis child, but doesn’t get anything form Daniel. Daniel futility attacks a Jaffa, who knocks him over, but it was a ploy, he manages to grab the communication device.

When Teal’c tells the Tok’ra what has transpired, they devise a plan: Netu itself is already unstable and they have a device that can drill into the core and cause it to explode and, hopefully, take out Sokar’s mothership as well. Teal’c agrees to the plan, but you know he plans on saving his friends first rather than sacrificing them like the Tok’ra want to do. However, when they get there, the Tok’ra accompanying him fires the weapon with little warning, Teal’c locks him in the cargo hold and refuses to flee.
Meanwhile, Apophis exchanges his information for rulership over Netu. Sokar is not impressed – the planet he gave for the Tok’ra base is already under Sokar’s control. Seeing that his plan failed, Apophis uses a hidden blade to kill Sokar’s guards, but has to flee when Sokar’s shield goes up.

SG-1 get in touch with Teal’c and manages to use the instability of the planet to escape their cell and make it to the ring chamber. They activate the rings and Teal’c makes it to the location of the beam just in time, heading off as the mothership starts opening fire. Netu explodes as they escape, taking Sokar and his ship with it. However, just before it explodes, a beam from transportation rings heads towards Sokar’s planet. As SG-1 celebrates their victory, Apophis looks upon his new domain.
A great second part, with Sokar being the weakest part. His introduction as a menacing face appearing on the Iris was great, but here he just sits down, waves his hand on a candle and gets tricked. Apophis has a striking new look with a metal plate, so once again the big bad really does not like SG-1 or Earth.
