The original Castlevania had a bunch of Java mobile ports, with the original version being lost to time, as it was only available in Japan, home of many, many versions of lost mobile games.
We do have screenshots from the original website listing, and the graphics have been really simplified. The few reports I found about it mentioned about the controls being extremely clunky – this was on a very low powered phone with a number pad, after all.

The earliest edition is also the hardest to find any details about. In fact, aside from knowing it exists, you’d be hard pressed to find a trace of the oldest version online.
