Robots is a film I know almost nothing about, although it’s style reminds me of the BBC stop motion show called Little Robots. Judging things from the video game, the colorful style hides a story of a dystopian world. You play as a young Robot called Rodney, who is an inventor. To prepare him for the big city, his dad equips him with a gun then gets him to kill local police in the town hall to scrounge up loose change to afford a train ticket.

The gameplay is precisely what you’d expect – a slow and tedious platformer. The levels are simple yet somehow still terribly telegraph where to go, with a really useless map. The movement and platforming is not fun and the combat is basic, with your limited ammo also being your currency.

There’s just nothing exciting at all about the game, it’s a pain to play and the characters aren’t likeable in the slightest.

Poor
Occasionally you’ll get to fight off some enemy bots with your upgradeable bolt-shooter, but a lot of the time you’re just running around collecting stuff. It’s about as exciting as cleaning the car.

Remake or remaster?
Nothing for this.
