While the previous Zoids games have been 3D action games, this translates the format into a 1 on 1 2D fighting game. The models look the same as the previous games and you can assign different guns to change what moves you have (from what I could work out, there’s no combos). The Zoids are also really big with the camera up close so that you don’t seem to have a way to avoid attacks. I didn’t like it at all.

The story mode has an immense amount of dialogue, with choices you can make to shift the story, resulting in different matchups throughout, like a visual novel with a bit of fighting every now and then.

Poor
I am a long-time fan of Zoids and a long-time buyer of their video games. This game completely thrilled me. The setup was different than the other Zoids games I’ve played, set up in a Street Fighter one-on-one sort of way but it had a ton of customization options and the fighting style was very refreshing.

Remake or remaster?
Perhaps a collection of Zoids games with proper translations,.
