This is a show I know absolutely nothing about, it seems like something to do with three Martians and an incompetent invasion of Earth. In Zoom or Doom, the emperor of Mars announced a competition to become general of the invasion and, naturally, this competition is racing.

Zoom or Doom is a great example of how important sound can be to a game. The hover bikes make virtually no noise, and it feels like they’re barely moving at all as a result. To make matters worse, steering isn’t important in the slightest, as even with all the assists turned off, it still turns slightly for you, and walls barely slow you down if you do hit them.

There are also the standard kart racer weapons, but the iconography is unclear and you never get a sense of what they actually do. Between each race, you also take part in a short, straight-line race in between every race where the winner starts the race with a random item, which is just needless padding.

The items are also irrelevant as the only important pickups are food and drink, which turns you into a giant robot, makes you invincible and very fast. Getting one or them is pretty much an instant win (the CPU doesn’t seem to be able to do it). Even if you don’t try to collect anything, it’s unavoidable – the game will make you win. To top things off, when you beat a grand Prix, you just get sent to the main menu without so much as a “you win”. Because if you’re playing this, you certainly didn’t win.

Poor
Having only seen snippets of the cartoon myself, and having the videogame to base it on, I can’t say that I’m surprised the series was cancelled. If the television show was anything like the software, then it’s better off dead and buried in the annals of failed TV experiments

Zoom or Doom”
Could’ve been the subtitle for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Anyways, I remember these aliens.
“Potthässlich und vom Mars” was the German title. Hated that show.
