This era of FIFA games really does feel bare bones in terms of features, but at least the gameplay feels different, with its own quirks and issues not present in previous games. The big feature this year seems to be that you can prepare a player’s action before the ball reaches them, letting them perform it with extra power straight away.

However, this has problems. If the ball doesn’t do what you hope, then the next player of yours will perform the move instead. Corners are one example of this, when you cross it in, you’ll naturally press shoot to attempt a header, but if it gets knocked to your winger by an opponent, they’ll just blast it off the pitch. Also, this FIFA game doesn’t have Wales, so it can’t be that important.

Fine
As football games go, it still doesn’t play quite as well as Konami’s excellent Japanese import Winning Eleven, but then nothing really does. FIFA 2004 Is an excellent game in its own right, with more than enough options to keep you playing for months.
