With lots of competition in arcade style football games, especially on GameCube due to Mario, FIFA Street 2 had to fix the issues with the first one and then do something special on top. Instead, we just have a mess of a game. Tackles have been nerfed to the point that half the time it looks like your character isn’t responding to the button press, and the CPU is just perfect, even on easy, and will thrash just about everyone.

There are some team and character creation stuff, and a minigame where you draw shapes with the C-stick (this barely works), but this is far more frustrating then it is fun, especially with some awkward controls and rather drab looking graphics.

Poor
With so many of the changes being purely cosmetic and so many of the original game’s failures and frustrations still in place, Street 2 was always going to be a missed chance, but with the ludicrously over-powerful Gamebreaker making the whole game lop-sided, it plays more like a decisive own goal.

Remake or remaster?
Not for this, but would be nice to see a new attempt.
