Another Clash of Ninja game, which covers another section of the story from the anime. The gameplay itself has barely changed, and all returning characters play exactly the same. The big new addition is a focus on tag battles, where you can swap between three characters within a fight. This just means longer fights, and you can mix up your style mid-battle.

If you wait for all three special bars to fill up, you can also perform a special move which involves all three of your characters. Despite the long and fancy animation, the difference in damage between this and a regular special is negligible. Other than that, it’s more of the same, and it was an average 1 on 1 fighter to begin with.

Fine
Naruto 4 is the best fighting game on GameCube. It’s THE best game on GameCube. It’s the new Smash Bros. It’s a fantastic fighting game, accessible but complex, and it’s four-player. Personally, I wouldn’t take chances on waiting for an English version when it’s this good.

Remake or remaster?
Combining the four games into one would be good.
