This Puzzle Bobble – called Super Puzzle Bobble All-Stars and and Bust-A-Move 3000 in North America – is another version of the popular bubble popping puzzle game. With the increased resolution on the GameCube, the differences in colours are a bit clearer, with the designs being more prominent and not spinning around in a confusing way. This makes it a bit easier for me to play, although it still takes extra time to identify the patterns..

It features the single player, battle and multiplayer modes you’d expect, with the story mode featuring some very lovely backgrounds. It also introduces some new mechanics throughout (such as an arrow that moves your bubble launch platform when you hit it) to mix things up. It’s a very solid entry in the franchise.

Fun
If you’ve never played Super Bust-A-Move before just go out and but it now. Go on, get down to the ships. It’s only £20 and when it comes to a spot of multiplayer this will undoubtedly serve you well. If, on the other hand, you’re one of the legion of gamers who already owns this on another platform, then there’s no point in forking out for it again.

Remake or remaster?
Newer entries in the franchise are fine.
