Whilst I know that there was an Incredibles game on GameCube that followed on from the end of the film. I didn’t know that first there was one based on the film itself. You follow some of the events of the film (some sections massively elongated), most of the time playing a bad beat-’em-up.

Mr. Incredible and Elastagirl’s levels are the bulk of the game. Both of their punches feel incredibly weak while their grab and throw seems to kill most enemies (even though it still feels pitiful). This means you spend most of the time mashing the grub button. There are a few basic platforming sections, which just feel broken, like the game is about to fall apart at the seams.

Dash has a few running levels. They’re a good reminder that, no matter how bad Sonic games have been, they haven’t done 3D movement anywhere near as bad as this. They remind me a lot of the “auto run” segments in Sonic 06, only worse. You barely have any control. Violet’s levels are horrendous stealth levels where she can only go invisible for a few seconds until a long recharge.

There is one good level, when Dash and Violet end up in an energy bubble and roll around. The movement is surprisingly smooth and you get to knock over a load of enemies and smash stuff. Miles better than the rest of the game.

Poor
While The Incredibles is far from the worst game in its crowded genre, it’s so crushingly ordinary as to be virtually invisible.
