It’s baseball with kids. Like Backyard Football, it’s a very budget title that uses a mix of its cartoon characters (the same ones appear in different games) and some child versions of sports stars. The graphics are also horrendous, yet the game has immensely long loading times, even when it’s just swapping which team is batting.

The game itself is a decent game of baseball, you can pick different kinds of hits and the CPU is kind and drops the ball a lot. When the CPU bats, your fielders are immensely easy to control and you can catch pretty much every ball. It’s like the reverse of the usual baseball game.

Fine
The graphics have been changed from cartoons to 3D. Our enjoyment of the game wasn’t lessened any, but the overall charm and individuality of the characters was lost somewhat in the translation. The argument of 3D vs cartoon has strong proponents in each camp, but I myself prefer cartoons over 3D. However, no one else in my family cared one way or the other.

Remake or remaster?
There are far better sports games, and the franchise is still going.
