Based on the Shaman King anime, Soul Fight is about people who can summon spirits to help them fight (at least that’s what I can figure out). The game adapts the anime into a rock, paper, scissors turn based fighting game.

Each round, you have a short time to pick an ability to use, as you have attacks linked to rock, paper, scissors. If you pick the stronger one (and you can see what your opponent is picking), you’ll do some damage. This is then followed up by a minigame (which involves pressing an on screen button quickly) where either player can do additional damage.

You do have a limit to how many of each attack you have, so you’ll also need to use turns to recharge. You can also choose to not do anything, although I’m not entirely sure why. Between each fight you can select lots of training to improve your stats. The fights themselves take an immense amount of time, even if you constantly win the attacks. Still, at least it’s an interesting system.

Fine
Personally, I think the game is interesting, it’s a game that is clearly divided into two without being boring, the game system has the feeling that the battle side is a combination of monster farm on the battle side, I think the graphics are at a high level at the time, and I think I’m glad I bought it because I can hear the voice of the late Tomoko Kawakami.

Remake or remaster?
Fans of the anime would probably enjoy a collection.
