A FIFA focused on the World Cup means one thing: It’s mainly the previous version of FIFA with very little content, as it only has the national teams and none of the leagues. This is no different, and the only thing that feels different is that it’s incredibly easy to score.

There was one thing that seemed interesting: it has a bunch of scenarios (like the N64 Internet Superstar Soccer games). Some that sounded interesting are ones based on some classic World Cup finals, such as England Vs Germany 1966. Unfortunately, this just sets the scores from then but the players are all modern ones. It would have been nice to have classic teams, even with non-official names.

Poor
Crucially, for anyone planning to play this primarily as a solo game, the difficulty level is also set far too low – witness out Vietnamese team humbling Brazil three times on the world class setting. Why is it so easy to win? After all, can there really be a person alive or dead who hasn’t played FIFA before in some form or other?

Remake or remaster?
Nothing for this.
