The Best Gets Better

Competition kicked off big time in American Football games, with three releasing in quick succession for GameCube. I was pleasantly surprised with the GameCube version of Madden 2002 and yet this seems to be a very muted version, lacking some of the ease of use and atmosphere as the previous game. The gameplay is mostly the same, it just doesn’t fell as nice. Even the intro seems lacklustre – Madden 2002 has its own rap, this has some unenthusiastic fans saying the EA sports motto.

One welcome return are some of the silly times, with a few unlocked from the start and others you have to get from completing challenges. But I just couldn’t get into this as much as the previous.

The previous was better, not sure about modern ones.
