Another 2K College Sports game that’s mostly a reskin of that year’s main game. The most significant thing I noticed is that the character creator has a big list of names that the commentators can say (although I may have just missed that in the normal one), other than that, it’s just an average basketball game.

One particularly strange thing, though, was the camera options. There’s a ton of them, with various zoom levels, yet I couldn’t find a single one I liked. The AI is also incredibly tough, even on the lowest setting, making it unfriendly for newcomers, which is the opposite to what I would have expected for a college version.

Fine
NCAA College Basketball 2K3 is a solid game with plenty of modes to choose from, but it ultimately falls short of being an accurate simulation of college basketball. The passing system is far too slow and imprecise to break down the zone defenses effectively, even when running plays. This also affects the post-up game, which is almost rendered useless for anything but a pull-up jumper. Casual fans probably won’t notice such problems, but the hard-core college basketball fan will more than likely be frustrated with them.
