This far into my playthrough of GameCube games, It’s surprising that it has taken this long to get to the first Japan-only GameCube game with the yearly release of Power Pros Baseball. While the N64 went to using dates, the franchise carried on with full numbered titles on PS2, which now returns to Nintendo consoles. The series is now in 3D with a cel-shaded look and features a wonderful anime opening.

The series also now feels much more forgiving, with the CPU not catching every single hit. I was able to score some runs, and actually managed to compete with the CPU opponents, making it far more enjoyable than any other game in the series so far.

The story mode also returns, featuring much bigger (and much nicer) artwork. The vast amount of text is still a bit too much for Google Translate, and there seems to be fewer options to choose from. At one point, I was at training camp and could only practice (not rest) and ended up in hospital for a few months following that.
The GameCube power pro games also all had second editions, which was the same game (including the same story mode), just with some updated rosters. I just count those as slight revisions and will not be covering them separately.

Fun
Most people play games to relieve stress, but this has the opposite effect. There is no future for this game unless we lose such a damn event. I didn’t buy a sequel at the end of this one. It seems that it hasn’t been resolved yet. Other than that, it’s no different from 8, so there are no comments in particular. Don’t be lazy. Producers should rethink it from the ground up.
Fairy Tale, Amazon JP Customer Review, 2005. Translated.
Remake or remaster?
The series is back, but a translation of the story mode would be great.
Official Ways to get the game
