Rally games seem to be very popular on GameCube, as we have yet another one here – it just never got the big one. V-Rally 3, which only went to North America on other platforms, was made by Eden Studios. They previously made the N64 V-Rally game and V-Rally 2, but are probably best known for Test Drive Unlimited (and infamously known for the 2008 Alone in the Dark).
V-Rally 3 features a comprehensive singleplayer mode where you sign on with a manufacturer and work your way up the rankings by playing lots of seasons. You can try out each starting car before proceeding. The handling in this is unbelievably twitchy, with the vast majority of the game trying to constantly correct your car – even going straight is a big challenge.
With the twitchy controls, it’s probably a good thing that you don’t race alongside others. There’s a lot of tracks to race on and the cars look very nice, with some good damage (although wheels seem to fly off easily) so there’s plenty going for it, I just couldn’t get to grips with handling the cars.

No doubting it, V-Rally 3 is fast like Cheetara. The unfortunate fact is it steers like Snarf.
