Out of all the Disney Sports games so far, the American Football one seems to be by far the most in-depth, being a fairly well featured American Football game with a Mickey Mouse skin. There are a good amount of options for customising the gameplay, and it even has a play editor that lets you create your own plays to use in the main game.

As American football features a lot more kit, the repeat characters aren’t as much of an issue as the Mickey Mouse football game, especially as teams also feature “heavy hitters”. The game itself is a quick feeling American football game, like a slightly less arcade NFL Blitz game.

Fine
It’s not easy to make a good football game — just ask the guys at 989 Studios. Konami took a chance in trying to bring a complex football sim to the younger Disney crowd. Instead of just watering down a traditional football title until it became a mindless button-masher, it kept many of the genre’s elements intact. This forces the gamer to spend a little more time in the learning phase, but the end result is worth it.
