Data Design Interactive is a company that became infamous for shovelware on the Wii, but they’ve been around for longer, mainly making licensed games before realising they can just release any old rubbish. That said, Nickelodeon Party Blast shows that “any old rubbish” was their motto before that anyway. The characters all look completely lifeless, and none of the charm or style for any of the shows is present anywhere in the game.

While it fancies itself as a party game, Nickelodeon Party Blast is more of an arena fighter with some slight variants. The controls are slow and unresponsive, with all game variants working in a similar way, even when you’re on roller skates or gliding down a river. The action is extremely messy and chaotic which, combined with the messy visuals, makes it difficult to tell what is going on at any given time – and adding more players just makes it worse. It’s a complete mess of a game devoid of anything enjoyable.

Worst
With so many great franchises, this could’ve been a decent party game. Instead, what we’re left with is a poor-looking, poor-sounding, and poor-playing game. I don’t think I could even recommend this to the age range that this game is aimed towards. Those kids may never want to play games again after playing this, and I’d hate to do that to anyone. Like the name implies, this game is only (barely) worth a spare nickel for price of admission. I’ve already said too much…
