The third Scooby-Doo game on GameCube and this one ditches trying to capture ghosts in a book and goes back to being a platformer. You won’t find Metroidvania aspects in this one, though, as this is more of a Crash Bandicoot style platformer. Although just not a blatant as Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Case on PS1.

You’ll run though linear levels jumping and using Scooby’s signature attack – spinning like a Bandicoot. He can also do a butt slide, but that attack is pretty much useless. The game revolves around a movie prop studio specialising in monsters, with new creations made from “mubber” running amok. This provides plenty of enemies to take out.

It’s a fairly mindless platformer, with cookies leading you wherever you need to go, showing what switches you need to press and so on, the only time you’ll need to do something not explicitly told you is when you need a costume, which you’ll need to pay for in mubber, occasionally forcing you to backtrack to take out respawning enemies

These costumes will change Scooby’s attacks and will grant an ability you need to progress through levels. UV light will destroy them (as they’re made out of mubber), which the games uses to indicate that the costume isn’t needed for the next section. Quite why the Scooby gang don’t use UV lights to destroy enemies, I have no idea. It’s one of those platformers that functions fine, but it never gets exciting.

Solving mysteries sounds like fun, and it would be if you actually had to work with Velma to complete puzzles, but all you do is jump into the light bulbs that are floating in the air.
